Leach Research Group
Joanna Zarnecka obtained her MSc in biotechnology (with specialization in bioinformatics) at Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland. During her final year she conducted an independent research project entitled “Design of inhibitors of cathepsin C based on substrate specificity” which included molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation procedures to study the newly proposed inhibitors.
She is currently a PhD student in Leach Research Group. Her main focus is to assess known (shape fingerprints, shape multipoles, shape signatures) and develop new computational methods to predict the activity, toxicity and potency of drug candidates based on their shape. The project is conducted in collaboration with MedChemica.
