Sam Mcgrath

Sam began his PhD at the University of Manchester in 2025 as part of the EPSRC Materials 4.0 CDT, with his research sponsored by BASF. His project focuses on using computational approaches such as AI-driven methods to identify novel corrosion-inhibitor candidates capable of performing effectively under alkaline conditions. These discoveries will then be used to support the development of high-value coating formulations.

Before joining the Leach group, Sam completed an integrated master’s degree in Biochemistry, also at the University of Manchester
